Lego: The movie (Warner Brothers)

It has been discussed for a while now, but now every indication truely shows there will be a ”Lego: The Movie ‘. The studio’s of  Warner Brothers agreed late last week with the development of the film, which would appear in 2014.

According to Variety it will be a hybrid film. This is a combination of animated Lego characters with real actors. The film would consist of eighty percent real Lego blocks, writes the NederlandseVolkskrant.

Since 2008 there has been talked about the Lego movie. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, known for the animated film “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs” (2009), were the last ones discussed for the script and direction. Whether they actually get it, is still unknown. What is certain is that it is an action-adventure film. An exact date for the release of the movie is not there yet. The castings will be held next year.

Lego has been working with Warner Brothers. The studio has already released a computer game on the market and there are plans for the new Batman Lego Figures on Film: The Dark Knight Rises’, that releases next summer.
